Sometimes You Need a Birds-Eye View

As an FAA Part 107 Certified Commercial Drone Pilot, I love the opportunity to take my filmmaking into the air. Pacific Charter School Development, a Nonprofit that builds schools, hired Goldilocks Studios to create a video that would be used to show their funders how important their continued financial support was to communities like Oakland’s Fruitvale. This video construction case study shows off the newly constructed campus for Lazear Charter Academy.

High-quality work can only be fully appreciated when your audience sees what you are talking about. In order to showcase the immense care and attention to detail PCSD brought to this project, this video uses a mixture of terrestrial and areal videography to show the many important features Lazear’s state-of-the-art campus includes. It is a strong example of both the importance of tools like drones in videography, and how mixing beautiful images and empathetic storytelling can be used to showcase the architectural ingredients that make this school’s campus an essential part of it’s community.
